An independant developer has added the ability to play Chess online inside of Google Earth. It also has chat capabilities. Install Google Earth 4.x beta, then follow the directions on this site. The interesting part about the new Chess capability is toward the top of this article.

Elista. The world Champion in Chess Veselin Topalov could leave the game for the title with his opponent Vladimir Kramnik in Elista. Video records showed that Kramnik went to a particular bathroom more than 50 times during play. This was the only bathroom with no surveillance cameras installed.

Chess is a board game and mental-skill game for two players. It is played on a square board of eight rows, called ranks, and eight columns, called files, giving 64 squares of alternating colour, light and dark.

Each player begins the game with 16 pieces which can move in defined directions. Chess is a strategy game.
